Patrick Brown, the current MPP for Simcoe North and PC Ontario leader, hosted his tenth annual Hockey Night in Simcoe County charity game. The event was a resounding success in its tenth year. They raised $252,000 for many great causes, including the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Georgian Bay General Hospital and the Colts Community Fund. This year’s fundraising brought the 10 year total to above $2 million. Prospectus is a longtime sponsor of the event.
The hockey game itself was also a competitive affair, featuring many current and former NHL players, including Connor McDavid, Tanner Pearson, Kevin Labanc, Gary Leeman, Ric Jackman, Daniel Tkaczuk and Greg Johnston.
NHL Hall of Famers, Mike Gartner and Dale Hawerchuk, assembled the two teams, with Barrie Colts owner Howie Campbell and former Toronto Maple Leafs star Shayne Corson coaching. Prospectus Associates principal Bill Pristanski served as an assistant coach to Mr. Corson. Other assistant coaches included John Brassard (MP for Barrie-Innisfil) and Jill Dunlop (Ontario Progressive Conservative candidate for Simcoe North). The two teams traded goals, with Team Gartner outlasting Team Hawerchuk, 12-9.
